Learn to customise clothes with embroidery and fabric manipulation techniques.
In this workshop, you will be shown embroidery and manipulation techniques to upcycle your clothes into a custom look. Techniques include hand smocking and couching techniques. Learn how some simple hand-sewing tricks can transform your clothes into a new, unique style. Fabric will be provided but if you have a garment to upcycle feel free to bring an item of clothing.

About Cassie Quinn Studio
CQ Studio conducts R&D of regenerative, local textiles and utilises waste to create new materials and systems of production including using mushrooms to clean wastewater to make plastic-free bio-embellishments (this is currently patent-pending). They create bespoke designs, and regenerative artwork using the materials and processes developed in-house.
Alongside the research of innovative materials, they deliver workshops as part of the Breaking Ground series for organisations such as Soho House, Victoria and Albert Museum and Prince’s Trust. They have also been awarded accolades for their work including the EU Commission Worth II Partnership Project, Arts Council DYCP, Mayor’s Entrepreneur Awards for Creative Industries and support from Innovate UK.
